Privacy notice
LAST UPDATED 29 September 2026
Trace Table is run by Mahdi Kilani, who is responsible for the information described here. You can reach us at trace-table@outlook.com.
This site is free and has no accounts. You do not sign up, you do not give us your name, and there is nothing to log in to.
Your work stays on your own device
Your code, your answers, your exam attempts and your settings are saved in your own browser, on the device you are using. They are never sent to us, and we cannot see them.
Two things follow from that. Nobody else can read your work, not even us. And if you clear your browser's data, or use a different device or browser, your work will not be there, and it cannot be recovered.
What we do record
We count how many people visit each day, so we know whether the site is being used. Each time a page loads we store:
- the date,
- a scrambled code made from your IP address, the date and a secret we keep,
- the country your browser appears to be in,
- the number one.
We do not store your IP address. The code is made with a one-way calculation, and because the date goes into it the code is different every day, so your visits on different days cannot be joined up.
We call this pseudonymous rather than anonymous, and the difference matters: anyone who had our secret could work backwards from a code to an address. We keep that secret out of the site's code and change it regularly, but we are not going to tell you it is impossible when it is not.
We do not use cookies for this, or for anything else.
Others who can see that you visited
- Cloudflare serves this site, so it handles your request as any website's host does. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without fingerprinting.
- jsDelivr, but only if you run Python. The Python engine is large and is fetched from that service the first time you use it, so at that moment it can see your address.
Neither of them sees your work.
Things you have to switch on yourself
AI help is off unless you turn it on. If you do, you supply your own key from a provider such as OpenRouter or Anthropic, or run a model on your own computer. Your key is kept in your browser, and your question goes from your browser straight to that provider. It does not pass through us, and we never see your key or your question. What the provider does with it is covered by their privacy policy, not this one.
If you are under 13
We do not ask for your name, your email or your age, and we have no account to attach them to, so there is nothing about you for us to hold. If you are worried, or a parent or teacher is, write to trace-table@outlook.com and we will answer honestly.
Asking us about your information
Write to trace-table@outlook.com. In most cases the honest answer will be that we hold nothing that identifies you, and that your work is deleted by clearing your browser's data, which is entirely in your hands. If we ever start holding anything more, this notice will say so before we do.
Changes
If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it.
